Santa Fe student, Julio Maragall, joins the HIVE CIMAP project as a summer intern. Julio is currently applying to study Electrical Engineering (B.S.) at the University of Florida. Julio also has plans to pursue a PhD in the future, with his current interests being Medical Computer Vision, Medical Signal Processing, Big Data, and Machine Learning.
For his summer internship, Julio will be based in the Computational Microscopy Imaging Lab at the University of Florida in Gainesville, under the supervision of Dr. Pinaki Sarder, Associate Professor of AI in the Department of Medicine’s Quantitative Health Section and Associate Director for Imaging in the Intelligent Critical Care Center, and Myles Tan, Graduate Research Assistant in the Division of Nephrology, Hypertension & Renal Transplantation in the Department of Medicine.
Julio will be assisting in the development of machine learning tools for the visualization and analysis of histological images of cells and tissues of the kidney.
