Virginia Tech student, Lin Xu, joins the HIVE CIMAP project as a summer intern. Lin is from Washington DC and is currently an undergraduate student in Nanomedicine.
For her summer internship, Lin will be based in the Computational Microscopy Imaging Lab at the University of Florida in Gainesville, under the supervision of Dr. Pinaki Sarder, Associate Professor of AI in the Department of Medicine’s Quantitative Health Section and Associate Director for Imaging in the Intelligent Critical Care Center, and Myles Tan, Graduate Research Assistant in the Division of Nephrology, Hypertension & Renal Transplantation in the Department of Medicine.
Lin’s project will involve developing automated cloud based plugins for deconvolution of spatial transcriptomics data generated via various spatial technologies using reference cell by gene matrix obtained via various public databases. The plugin will be useful for spatial transcriptomics users for automated inference of cell and state population from measured transcriptomics data for downstream analysis.
Lin says, “I am excited to participate in the summer internship at the University of Florida through the HuBMAP Program in order for me to learn more about the intersection of computational and biomedical.”
One of Lin’s favorite pastimes is playing board games with her friends.
We are very excited to have Lin on board!
