KPMP Travel Awardees present AI Research in Kidney Pathology at Gallaudet University, Washington, D.C.

Dr. Afsari and Dr. Naglah, both recipients of the Kidney Precision Medicine Project (KPMP) travel award, presented their latest research at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Afsari presented an AI-driven diagnostic index designed to differentiate diabetic nephropathy from podocytopathies such as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Her work aims to improve diagnostic precision and aid in better disease classification using computational tools.

Dr. Naglah showcased AI models developed to analyze immune activity and tissue inflammation in kidney biopsy images. His research focuses on enhancing the understanding of inflammatory processes in renal diseases through image-based machine learning approaches.
