Dr. Pinaki Sarder recently presented an invited seminar at the University of Houston titled “AI × Molecular Insight: Bridging Every Scale.” In his talk, he highlighted advances in computational pathology and spatial omics, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can integrate molecular data with histology images to better understand disease biology. Dr. Sarder discussed AI methods developed by his research group to identify cell types, cell states, and tissue microanatomy from brightfield histology images. He also showcased applications of these technologies in predicting chronic kidney disease progression and kidney transplant outcomes through collaborations with the Human Biomolecular Atlas Program (HuBMAP) and the NIH Kidney Precision Medicine Project (KPMP).
