Dr. Pinaki Sarder took center stage at PMWC 2025, delivering an insightful talk on "Advanced Image Analysis and Data Integration in the Human Biomolecular Atlas Program (HuBMAP)." Dr. Sarder explored the intersection of digital pathology and spatial omics at the Bioinformatics & Computational Biology Working Group Meeting at Roswell, highlighting the challenges and potential solutions for effective data integration.
Dr. Sarder presented to attendees at SSKWS that quantitative renal biopsy assessments for transplantation, when enhanced by AI-powered computational pathomic analysis, are expected to significantly outperform stand-alone assessments by on-call pathologists in terms of accuracy. He explained that this advancement will not only reduce organ discard rates but also improve organ quality estimation. Furthermore, Dr. Sarder presented that it would be a critical step toward better donor-recipient matching, ultimately leading to enhanced graft allocation and improved long-term outcomes for transplant patients.
