Dr. Ahmed Naglah delivered a virtual talk about the role of generative AI in the field of digital pathology and computational pathology at the Banff Digital Pathology Working Group (DPWG) meeting.
Dr. Ahmed Naglah and Dr. Sayat Mimar presented UF_IC3’s efforts to educate undergrads to leverage machine learning in medicine as part of the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) Plan for Enhancing Diverse Perspectives (PEDP) program for underrepresented STEM majors.
Excited to receive the support to apply our machine learning algorithms to quantify and classify genetic heterogeneity and tumor microenvironment variation in the most aggressive form of brain cancer, glioblastoma. This project is a collaboration with Dr. Michalina Janiszewska at Wertheim UF Scripps Institute, whose lab studies glioblastoma tissue organization and develops methods to map cancer ecosystem in search for new approaches to treat this incurable cancer.
Dr. Sarder presented our Functional Unit State Identification and Navigation (FUSION) software to The Nephrotic Syndrome Study Network (NEPTUNE), a North American multicenter consortium with the objective to develop a translational research infrastructure to better understand underlying disease pathogenesis and conduct investigations into targeted therapies.
Our new perspective paper published in the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (CJASN) showcases the potential of machine learning to automate diagnostic processes in nephropathology.
Our spring break HuBMAP intern, Nicholas Sherwin, participated in the UF 2023 Spring Undergraduate Research Symposium presenting his poster on computational image analysis and digital pathology
The CMI Lab is excited to welcome new personnel Ahmed Naglah, Wenbin Guo, Sayat Mimar, Fatemeh Afsari, Hyunjae Jeong, Harishwar Reddy, Julio Maragall, and Daniel Giraldo.
Sam Border presented his collaborative work with Farzad Fereidouni (Assistant Professor, UC Davis) on automated WSI collagen analysis for fibrosis quantification using deep-DUET at the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology’s (USCAP’s) 112th Annual Meeting 2023, New Orleans, LA.
Sam Border's new perspective paper, "Computational Pathology Fusing Spatial Technologies," showcases the potential of spatial tissue imaging to transform histopathologic interpretation by generating large datasets and visual clues that may augment existing gold-standard histopathologic interpretation.
