VolView (from Kitware) is a browser-based radiology image visualization application integrated in our Digital Slide Archive (DSA) application for clinicians, researchers, and developers working with radiological data. It enables users to load and interactively explore DICOM images in both 2D and 3D, offering high-quality cinematic volume rendering, measurement and annotation tools, and an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. Because VolView runs entirely within a web browser, no software installation is required, and image data remains on the user’s local machine by default, enhancing privacy and security.
